If you make multiple submissions to AutoUI 2020, along any track, they should be distinct from each other.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><b>Relevance to Auto-UI: <\/b><\/span>We expect submissions to bear relevance to the AutoUI community and previous publications. Submissions should strive to make this explicit by referencing proceedings of previous years, which are available through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dl.acm.org\/\">ACM digital library<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><b>Paper Length.\u00a0<\/b>Papers must not exceed 7500 words. Each figure and table count as 250 words. For example, a paper with 2 figures and 1 table (3 x 250 = 750) should not exceed 6750 words (i.e., 7500 minus 750). Reviewers will be instructed to weigh the contribution of a submission relative to its length, so papers with a length disproportionate to their contribution will be rejected. In exceptional cases, the authors may be requested to shorten papers.<\/li>\n<li><b>Anonymization.\u00a0<\/b>Papers must be anonymized for blind review. We use a relaxed model that does not attempt to conceal all traces of identity from the body of the paper. However, you\u00a0<em>do<\/em>\u00a0need to completely remove identifying information from the title\/header area of the paper, and ensure that it does not appear in the document\u2019s meta-data.\u00a0<em>Citations to your own previous work must NOT be anonymized,\u00a0<\/em>so that reviewers can ensure that all previous research has been taken into account. We encourage authors to refer to their previous work in the third person. Videos do not have a specified limit for duration, although we recommend staying within 5 minutes. Other supplementary material may include, for example, survey text, experimental protocols, source code, and data, all of which can help with replicability of your work. Any non-video supplementary material should be submitted as a single .zip file, including a README file with a description of the materials. Your total submission size (paper + supplementary material) must be no more than 100 MB. Since not everyone who reads a Paper will view the supplementary material, your submission must stand on its own and will be reviewed as such.<\/li>\n<li><b>Previous work.\u00a0<\/b>In instances where your new submission builds directly on a project described in another, as-yet-unpublished paper, it is recommended that you submit an anonymized version of that other paper as supplementary material. You may choose to also include a note of explanation as to the novel contribution of the present submission. If the previous work is already published, it may simply be cited in the body of the paper as per usual, and should not be included in the supplementary materials.<\/li>\n<li><b>Make your submission<\/b>. Submit and resubmit your material using the Precision conference submission system (<a href=\"https:\/\/new.precisionconference.com\">https:\/\/new.precisionconference.com<\/a>) until the submission deadline. Be sure to select the appropriate conference and submission track (i.e., SIGCHI &gt; AutoUI 2020 &gt; Paper).<br \/>To aid the review process, authors are requested to indicate which type of research contribution that the submission makes. This information will be used to find the most appropriate meta-reviewers \/ ACs (Associate Chairs). The submission categories are: (a) Research Methods &amp; Simulation; (b) Design &amp; User Experience; (c) Software and Technology; and (d) User Studies &amp; Human Factors.<\/li>\n<li><b>Opening of submission system.<\/b> The submission system will open for submissions approximately four weeks before the submission deadline.<\/li>\n<li><b>Language editing. <\/b>Papers should be submitted in the English language and be free of spelling or grammar errors. This includes text embedded in figures. We recommend having your article proofread by native speakers of English before submission. <br \/>ACM has partnered with International Science Editing (ISE) to provide discounted language editing services to ACM authors. ISE offers a comprehensive range of services for authors including standard and premium English language editing, as well as illustration and translation services. Please note that these editing services are at the author\u2019s expense and do not guarantee publication of a manuscript.<\/li>\n<li><b>Accessibility <\/b>Please make every effort to make your submission accessible. Please see <a href=\"https:\/\/chi2018.acm.org\/?s=guide+accessible+submission&amp;submit=\">guide to an accessible submission<\/a>\u00a0(explanation for CHI 2019, most of it applies to AutoUI 2020 as well).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>After you submit your AutoUI 2020 Paper, it will undergo a rigorous double-blind review process. Neither the reviewers will know the names of the authors, nor will the authors know the names of the reviewers. This process is managed by the Technical Program Chairs (TPCs) and Associate Chairs (ACs) of the program committee. Confidentiality of submissions is maintained throughout the review process.<\/p>\n<p>Submissions will be reviewed for originality, clarity, appropriate connection with previous research, experimental\/analytical rigor (where relevant), and writing quality, among other criterion. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>All accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings and will be published in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dl.acm.org\/\">ACM digital library<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Full paper authors will be notified of (conditional) acceptance or rejection by or around the end of June, 2020. Authors of conditionally accepted submissions will receive instructions on how to prepare and submit the final formatted version and details on the video presentation, live online discussion panel, and scheduling at the conference.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Upon acceptance, you will receive a (digital) ACM eRights form, which you are required to complete. You cannot change the title of your paper after you submitted the ACM eRights form.<\/li>\n<li>After the ACM eRights form is submitted, ACM we will provide you with the rights information you must insert into your paper via email.<\/li>\n<li>Follow <span lang=\"EN-US\">the instructions to transform the submitted (and revised) manuscript into the final, formatted version. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/binaries\/content\/assets\/publications\/taps\/acm_master_article_template_instructions.pdf\">Detailed instructions<\/a> along with a video tutorial will be sent to authors regarding this stage. The final formatted version will then be <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/dSYINtsB0bY\">uploaded through the production system<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A member of the program committee and the publication chairs will check that your final output meets the requirements for publication and, if so, will finalize the acceptance. Authors are encouraged to submit their final revision earlier than the deadline, in case it is judged that the paper does not meet the committee requirements. If authors are unable to meet these requirements by the deadline, the program chairs will be notified and may be required to remove the paper from the program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In order for the final version of the paper to be published in the conference proceedings, at least one author of accepted papers must register for the virtual conference by the early registration deadline in order for the final version of the paper to be published in the conference proceedings.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Authors are required to prepare a video that describes their work in advance of the conference. Full details and guidelines will be provided following the paper decisions. During the virtual conference, authors will participate in an online discussion panel where audience members can interact with presenters and ask questions. If you make multiple submissions to AutoUI 2020, along any track, they should be distinct from each other.<\\\/li>\\n\n\n<li><span style=\\\"color: #333333;\\\"><b>Relevance to Auto-UI: <\\\/b><\\\/span>We expect submissions to bear relevance to the AutoUI community and previous publications. Submissions should strive to make this explicit by referencing proceedings of previous years, which are available through the\\u00a0<a href=\\\"https:\\\/\\\/dl.acm.org\\\/\\\">ACM digital library<\\\/a>.<\\\/li>\\n\n\n<li><b>Paper Length.\\u00a0<\\\/b>Papers must not exceed 7500 words.
