Location: P-Block Level 4 P421
Panel moderator
Ian Christensen
Ian is the Managing Director of the iMOVE Co-operative Research Centre. iMOVE undertakes industry-led research to help organisations in the transport sector solve problems and secure opportunities in the movement of people and goods.
Amongst the technologies that iMOVE and its partners have been exploring, vehicle automation and connectivity have attracted a large amount of attention. Ian remains excited by the contribution these technologies could make to the safety and productivity of our road network.
However, we are not there yet. Ian looks forward to the discussions at AutoUI that might lead to improved performance and greater social acceptance of these new technologies.
Ian is an experienced innovator and is the inventor on two families of patents. He is passionate about the contribution that collaborative research can make to the Australian community.

Marieke Martens
Prof Dr Marieke Martens is a full professor at TU Eindhoven and Principal Scientist at TNO, the Netherlands Organisation for applied scientific research.
With a background in cognitive and experimental psychology, she has always worked in the application domain of traffic and transport. She has always been interested in what drives people to do what they do and how this can be influenced, either by technology or by other measures or means. She has been involved in large Dutch and EU research projects about mobility behaviour and about changing travel habits. She also knows how hard it is to change habits, and that measures should always be seen in the larger perspective of the entire context of a users life, and that what works for 1 person may not work for the other.

Kevin Cocks
Department of Transport and Main Roads (Queensland)
Kevin is currently the Executive General Manager of Accessible Transport Network (ATN). The role is to develop an Accessibility and Inclusion Strategy (AIS) that provides a framework which facilitates cultural change over the next 10 years. The strategy focuses on delivering infrastructure, products and services that are accessible and inclusive of all Queenslanders and our visitors. Prior to this, Kevin held the maximum term of seven-year position at the Anti-Discrimination Commission Queensland (ADCQ), he made significant progress with the work of realigning the organisation to one focused on the vision for a fair and inclusive Queensland. This involved preliminary concept development in consultation with key stakeholders, building capacity for implementation within the organisation, and prototyping new forms of engaging with the community through generative conversation. The shift from a heavily compliance-based paradigm, to a collaborative; strengths-based; vision-driven paradigm was a challenging but necessary step for the Commission to continue to achieve its highest aspirations as an organisation.
