Conference Location
Wednesday, November 30th
On the workshop days, the conference registration will be at the ICT&S Center in Sigmund Haffner Gasse 18. It can also be accessed through Wiener Philharmoniker Gasse 9. From there, signs and student volunteers will guide you to the workshop venues, which are not more than 3 walking minutes away.
W1 will be conducted directly at the ICT&S Center. W2, W3 and W4 will be held right across the road in Churfürststraße 1.
Thursday, Dec 1st & Friday, Dec 2nd
The conference event will be held at the so called "Edmundsburg". Edmundsburg is on the side of the castle hill, elevated above the old town. It can be reached either via stairs, or through an elevator. The entrance to the elevator is accessible from Toscaninihof. On the conference days, student volunteers will be standing at the entrance to Toscaninihof showing you the way to the elevators. If you can not find your way, stop by the ICT&S Center and we will show you where to go.

Although Salzburg is a rather small city, where many places are within walking distance, it offers a public bus system. The bus map (PDF) shows the bus lines with all the bus stops. The closest Stops to the conference location are "Hanuschplatz/Zentrum" , "Rathaus" and "H.- v.- Karajan Platz". Tickets can be purchased at the tobacconist, at ticket machines at the most important bus stops, with the bus driver or by SMS (requires Paybox).
Short distance tickets ("Kurzstreckenkarte") are best for rides of 2 stops maximum - it's only available in advance sale. For longer rides take a single ticket ("Einzelfahrt-Ticket") or a 24-hours-ticket ("24-Stunden-Ticket). If you stay more than 3 days, a weekly ticket ("Wochenkarte"), which is valid for 7 days, is recommended. The cheapest way to get a ticket is to buy it in advance sale.
Every ticket has to be stamped in the bus. The tickets are valid everywhere downtown.

Taxi
A taxi stand can be found both in front of the main railway station ("Hauptbahnhof") and the airport ("Flughafen") and in several other locations in the centre (e.g. "Hanuschplatz", "Mirabellplatz").
Parking in Salzburg
For short-time parking there are short-term parking zones, which are identified by road signs ("Kurzparkzone" and "Ende der Kurzparkzone"). Parking is permitted there for max. 3 hours.
Some of the parking zones are chargeable - 1,10 € per hour from Monday till Friday from 9:00 to 19:00. For the rest of the time they are free of charge but at Saturdays from 9:00 to 16:00 a parking disc (available at stores for accessories; instead of buying one, you can also use this sheet) has to be set. Parking tickets are available at ticket machines (one ticket machine per street).
Apart from the chargeable parking zones, there are short-term parking zones, which are free of charge but require to set parking discs (Monday till Friday 9:00 to 19:00 and Saturday 9:00 to 16:00).
